FairWind and Vestas Complete First Installation in Russia
FairWind has completed installation of 14 Vestas 3.6 MW turbines in Ulyanovsk, Russia in the first wind turbine project in the country for both FairWind and client Vestas.
The project was supported by FairWind’s new regional hub in Kiev, Ukraine. FairWind expects this project to be a precursor for future cooperation with Vestas in the region.
“As with many projects in new markets, we had to approach this challenge with determination and flexibility to complete successfully,” said Łukasz Żołnowski, Installation Coordinator.
“FairWind’s technicians showed initiative in making the most of local resources, making new connections while taking advantage of our global support network. We hope this project will lead to many more in Russia and further our relationship in this region with Vestas.”
Vestas is nearing completion of a blade-making plant in Ulyanovsk, where Russia launched trial operations of their first-ever wind farm earlier in 2018.
