FairWind participated in a three-day tour of Turkey in November, 2019 organized by the Royal Danish Consulate General in Istanbul together with the Danish Wind Export Association (DWEA), in close partnership with the Izmir Development Agency (IZKA).

The fact-finding mission was meant to showcase Turkey’s wind sector and build collaboration between the Danish and Turkish wind sectors. Katarzyna Pawłowska, Key Account Manager represented FairWind.

Along with FairWind, the delegation included Danish Wind Power Academy (DWPA), Fritz Schur Energy, Martin Bencher Group, Resolux Group, Svendborg Brakes, and United Wind Force (UWF).

The tour started out in Ankara, where delegates participated in the Turkish Wind Energy Congress (TUREK 2019). Here roundtable discussions and B2B meetings were held to increase strategic cooperation in the wind sector and explore investment opportunities for Danish companies.

This was followed by visits to production sites in Izmir, unofficially called the capital of the wind sector in Turkey. A visit was also made to the Ates Wind Power and LM Wind Power factories in Bergama.

“This visit was important in supporting our agenda and plans for Turkey in the years to come,” Pawłowska said.

“FairWind definitely wants to be a key player on the Turkish market.”

FairWind has been involved in the Turkish wind market for many years, providing solutions for the installation and service of wind turbines in the country. This includes an established legal entity, FAİRWİND RÜZGAR. FairWind recruits and trains local Turkish technicians for these projects.
