Description:
Since the installation site was on primary dikes surrounding a water lock, and the area’s nature being protected too, the installation involved some significant challenges, such as:
- Limitations in transport due to narrow dikes and water lock
- Delivery of components Just In Time due to limited space
- Unloading of main components by ship at logistics area
With the complexity of the project, extensive planning was commenced already 6 months prior to installation, and when installation started, we adapted our site management model, utilized internal QHSE trainings, and used a lot of communication.
Our approach to the logistics resulted in not only a well-timed and effective execution, but also a great performance in QHSE, leading to FairWind winning the ”Safest Subcontractor” award.
