Train at the European Wind Academy
GWO wind turbine training courses
The European Wind Academy is dedicated to advancing safety and technical skills within the wind energy industry.
The academy delivers a wide range of globally recognised training courses, including exclusive OEM-specific training. We currently have training facilities within Poland and Australia, providing hands-on, practical training. Our courses include:
- GWO Basic Safety Training (BST)
- GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT)
- GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART)
- GWO Slinger Signaller (SLS)
- IRATA
- GWO Crane and Hoist Basic User (CHBU)
- Service Lift User
Inside our training facilities
To support the growing global demand for skilled wind turbine technicians, FairWind delivers training through the European Wind Academy, with facilities designed to provide realistic, hands-on learning environments for the wind energy industry. We currently have two global training facilities in place.
Australia
Our purpose-built mobile facility brings high-quality GWO training directly to project sites across Australia. Technicians gain practical, on-site experience without the need to travel, supporting rapid workforce development.
Poland
Located in Szczecin, our modern centre features classrooms and realistic turbine training rigs for GWO-certified courses, including safety, technical, and rescue training. Instructors bring real turbine experience, preparing technicians for onshore and offshore projects.
Located in Poland, we established the European Wind Academy to create a competent and knowledgeable workforce and drive increased safety standards across the industry.
With custom-built nacelle, working at height, and close containment spaces all part of the training floor, the specialist facility is designed to allow delegates to learn critical industry skills in a safe environment.
The centre delivers a range OEM specific training, some of which is exclusive to the European Wind Academy – providing more opportunities for delegates. It is also one of the largest GWO (Global Wind Organisation) training providers in the world.
Some of the courses currently offered by the European Wind Academy include:
- GWO Basic Safety Training (BST)
- GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT)
- GWO Control of Hazardous Energies (CoHE)
- GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART)
- GWO others (EFA, SLS)
- SHE Rescue (Enercon)
- LMB Ladders (Enercon)
- Siemens Gamesa Technical Training (SGTT)
- Skylotec (PPE and ACX)
