FairWind, Inc. is a leading ISP (Independent Service Provider) to the Wind Energy sector. We provide installation, commissioning, service, and specialty repair to wind farms across North America. FairWind, Inc. is part of the European FairWind group headquartered in Denmark.
FairWind, Inc. is looking for a QHSE Coordinator for our activities in the United States and Canada. The ideal candidate has experience from a similar wind industry position and a wind technician background.
Essential Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Develop and maintain an Accident Prevention Program;
- Ensure that the FairWind safety culture is implemented across the North American organization including corrective/preventative actions;
- Participation in tender and project teams as a QHSE expert;
- Development of site-critical QHSE documentation;
- Development of JSA’s/Risk Assessments/Safe Work Plans;
- Handling all OSHA reporting;
- Handling of all Worker’s Compensation claims;
- Perform on-site safety audits and equipment inspections;
- Ensure alignment with all corporate QHSE processes;
- Participation in customer QHSE seminars, audits, and kick-off meetings;
- Manage and investigate NCRs, Near misses, damage reports, and customer complaints;
- Implement and monitor QHSE-related KPIs;
- Conduct safety audits and safety training;
- Develop and implement safety campaigns;
- Assure subcontractor compliance with contractual QHSE requirements;
- Manage ISNetworld profiles for all vendors;
- Carry out internal audits;
- Participate in external and corporate audits in a role as an internal ISO auditor;
- Cooperate with Quality Assurance Inspectors;
- Analyse the cost of poor-quality on projects;
- Manage QHSE action plans initiated on projects;
- Provide input to corporate QHSE for quality reports and documentation;
- Handling of non-conformities reported by customers;
- Implement hazardous materials management processes on projects;
- Implement waste management processes on projects.
Hard skills:
- Fluency in verbal and written English;
- Microsoft Office® proficiency;
- Working knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and OHSAS 45001;
- CSP or other relevant safety degrees desirable: NEBOSH, IOSH preferable;
- OSHA 500 certification desirable;
- Knowledge of SPRAT/IRATA safety standards is desirable.
Soft skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Structured and analytical work approach.
General requirements:
- Must be willing and able to climb 350’ wind turbine and emergency descend if required;
- Must demonstrate proper use of PPE always.;
- Must have a valid driver’s license;
- Must be able to pass a drug test;
- Must be able to pass a background test;
- Must be willing and able to travel extensively throughout the US and Canada (Must have a valid passport with no travel restrictions);
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Experience requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of QHSE management experience.
