As a Lift Services Technician at FairWind, you will be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of lift systems within wind turbine towers. Ensuring the safe and reliable operation of these essential lift systems is key to supporting our technicians and engineers in their work at height. This role requires a high commitment to safety standards, technical expertise in lift systems, and a willingness to work in challenging environments.
Your qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational certification in lift maintenance, mechanical/electrical repair, or a related field preferred
1-2 years of experience in lift/elevator maintenance, repair, or a similar field
Experience working with lifts in wind turbines or industrial settings
Ability to interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals
Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
Effective problem-solving abilities and adaptability to work under pressure
Certification in lift/elevator maintenance (such as CET, NEIEP) is an advantage. OSHA or GWO certification in working at heights is preferred
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces within wind turbine towers
Physical stamina for manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in varied weather conditions
Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required

Your Role
Installation & Setup: Install lift systems and components in wind turbine towers according to manufacturer guidelines, engineering instructions, and FairWind safety protocols
Inspection & Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure all lift systems are functioning safely and efficiently. Document findings and actions taken in compliance with FairWind and regulatory standards.
Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and address malfunctions in lift systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components. Respond promptly to minimize downtime and maintain lift reliability
Safety Compliance: Follow all FairWind safety policies, including PPE usage, lockout/tagout procedures, and fall protection standards. Ensure lift systems meet regulatory compliance and company standards
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance, inspections, repairs, and inventory. Report any safety issues or equipment malfunctions to site supervisors
Collaboration: Work closely with other FairWind field technicians, site supervisors, and engineering teams to ensure operational continuity and address technical issues promptly
Ongoing Training: Participate in FairWind training for lift systems, turbine components, and safety practices to maintain knowledge of industry standards and technologies
