Being constructed in three phrases, it will become the world\u2019s largest offshore wind farm once completed. In Scotland, the Seagreen development off the coast of Angus has the deepest fixed bottom foundations of any wind farm globally, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sserenewables.com\/offshore-wind\/operational-wind-farms\/seagreen\/\">capable of generating enough green energy to power more than 1.7 million homes.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p><p>This growth isn\u2019t set to slow down. In October this year, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/owgp.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Offshore Wind Growth Partnership<\/a>\u00a0(OWGP) launched its most ambitious <a href=\"https:\/\/owgp.org.uk\/owgp-launch-industrial-growth-fund\/\">funding programme<\/a> to date, offering between \u00a3300,000 and \u00a325 million per project to boost UK offshore wind manufacturing under the Industrial Growth Plan. Meanwhile, recent figures from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.renewableuk.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RenewableUK<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Offshore Wind Industry Council (OWIC)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.renewableuk.com\/news-and-resources\/press-releases\/uk-wind-industry-celebrates-decade-of-growth-with-nearly-2-000-companies-now-in-the-sector-s-supply-chain\/#:~:text=Published%20last%20week%2C%20the%20Wind,15%2C000%20working%20in%20onshore%20wind.\">report<\/a> that that the number of people working in the offshore wind industry has risen from just over 32,000 two years ago to nearly 40,000 today \u2013 an increase of 24%.<\/p><p>The continued expansion of the UK wind market presents major opportunities for turbine maintenance and installation companies. As both onshore and offshore capacity continue to grow, the demand for skilled contractors capable of delivering safe, efficient installation and long-term asset management is accelerating. With an ageing fleet of onshore turbines and a new wave of large-scale offshore projects coming online, there\u2019s a need for expertise in both repowering existing assets and commissioning next-generation turbines. Companies like FairWind that can provide flexible, well-trained teams and advanced maintenance solutions will be vital in supporting the sector\u2019s operational reliability and cost-efficiency.<\/p><p>Beyond installation and upkeep, maintenance providers have a crucial role to play in strengthening the UK\u2019s clean energy supply chain. By investing in local skills, innovation and sustainable service models, they can help reduce downtime, extend asset lifecycles and improve project economics.
