We believe our values should be more than words on an office wall or a section on our website; they are guiding principles and an essential part of our day-to-day operations. We’re proud that we live and work by our values and recognise and reward colleagues who demonstrate them through their actions. Our quarterly Values in Practice (VIP) awards celebrate those team members who have shown a strong commitment to one or more of our values. The awards are peer nominated giving ownership to the whole of our FairWind community, encouraging colleagues to celebrate value led behaviour whenever and wherever they see it.
Our awards committee includes members of the senior leadership team, who review nominations from across the business and take on the difficult task of selecting the winners each quarter. The standard is always impressively high, and winners are recognised on our internal communication platforms through announcements and photos from their award presentations. Each winner also receives a VIP certificate and a financial reward, presented by their line manager.
VIP winners contribute to our FairWind culture in many ways. Their nominations highlight behaviours such as leading by example, bringing a people-first mindset to every interaction, acting with respect, openness and transparency, showing strong ethical standards, and embracing challenges with a high level of responsibility and dedication.
