FairWind wins first service maintenance contract in South Pacific

FairWind has been awarded its first maintenance contract in the South Pacific.

Delivered through our Spanish subsidiary, Wind1000, the company has been chosen to support 24 of its 850kw turbines at a wind farm in New Caledonia.

The contract, expected to run for a year with a one-year extension option, will see FairWind supply two permanent onsite specialist technicians to provide full year-round turbine support. FairWind already has extensive knowledge and experience of the site, with Wind1000 having installed the turbines at the wind farm in 2020.

Jesús García Mallo, Southern Europe and South America regional director at FairWind, commented: “Securing our first maintenance service contract in the region is a significant step for the business as part of our strategy to expand our service capability globally. We aim to provide our customers with a complete service offering that supports the lifecycle of their renewable energy assets.

“We have combined our first-hand knowledge of the site with our ability to supply experienced, bi-lingual technicians, to ensure we deliver a high-quality service to the customer. As well as our global resource pool, our local office in Australia will provide the client with additional support.”

FairWind has been operating in Oceania since 2019 and opened its office in Melbourne, Australia in 2024 to support the growing demand for its services in the region.
