FairWind announces that Carsten Jacobsen has joined the company as the new Vice President and COO of their Onshore wind turbine installation business as of February 1st, 2021.
“Over the course of the last 12-15 months, FairWind has worked on our strategic ambition of developing the FairWind Regions as a platform for further scaling the FairWind business, with the ultimate aim of becoming the preferred supplier in the industry. To succeed on this journey, it has been key for FairWind to hire in the right candidate, and by adding Carsten Jacobsen to our Leadership Team, we will broaden our set of competences,” said FairWind CEO, John Funch.
“Carsten Jacobsen brings to FairWind an international profile, extensive market knowledge, a strong commercial mindset, as well as leadership and mentoring skills for our Heads of Regions.”
Carsten Jacobsen comes with more than 20 years of renewable energy industry experience through various roles within Siemens Gamesa and Nordex. His most recent role was Project Director within SGRE managing their Scandinavian pipeline for a total of 800MW, and prior to this as Vice President Global Head of Project Site Execution, SGRE, a role in which he had overall P&L responsibility over six sub-divisions and 350 employees across the APAC and NCE areas, and the US.
Hence, Carsten’s primary aim in the new VP role will be to continue the positive trajectory of FairWind’s core Onshore business in collaboration with the five current Heads of Regions. As Vice President Operations Onshore, Carsten will step into the C-level Group and be accountable for the Global Onshore P&L, and with his Team unfold the potential of strategic regionalization with a focus on:
Scaling the Global Onshore Business
Developing the Regional back-office organizations
Strengthening FairWind’s resilience in OEM’s supply chain through local independent team
